Have you seen the Mini Murals popping up around Houston? If you’re like us and get pre-occupied at stoplights you may have missed them. But if you look around the next time you’re at a stoplight and you may be enchanted by what you see. What once were bland, yet necessary, electrical control boxes, aka utility boxes, are being turned into works of art by a wonderful collection of artists all over the city.
This project embraces the sense of whimsy, eclectic style and audacious spirit that permeates throughout Houstonians. We believe the various Mini Mural artists, project managers and advisory board are well on their way to achieving their mission of bringing art to unexpected places, beautifying our neighborhoods and spiffing up our streetscapes. What a great way to give us something to enjoy and seek out while we traverse throughout this wonderful city we love so much.
